Gungor Kaymak is a graduate of Industrial Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University in Turkey. After graduation in 1984, he worked as project engineer and planning manager in household appliance and automotive industries for 5 years and specialised in investment planning, product development and supply chain management. He joined IBM Turkey in 1989 and assumed different solution and product marketing roles. He also established OEM marketing and IBM-SAP Competency Center functions within the company. Afterwards, Mr. Kaymak joined Hewlett-Packard Turkey in 1997 and worked as sales and marketing manager responsible from extended manufacturing and public sectors until 2001. Following HP, he took role in establishing SAP Turkey, as country marketing and sales director for a year. Gungor Kaymak joined Bimsa, then a joint venture company of Sabancı Holding and IBM, in 2002. Bimsa is an IT systems integration services company and Sabanci is the second largest Holding company in Turkey, operating in finance, energy, manufacturing, insurance and retail industries. In July 2004, he assumed the general management role in Bimsa and starting from May 2005 he also overtook general management position of Sabancı Telekom, an alternative telecommunication services provider. Currently, Mr. Kaymak is the CIO of Sabancı Holding since November 2010 and General Manager and Board Member in Bimsa. He is also a member of advisory boards of Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering departments of Bilkent and Yeditepe Universities.
